I am excited to work alongside such a dedicated group of Health Information Professionals who play an essential role in advancing healthcare throughout Long Island and beyond. As we look ahead, my vision is simple, it’s centered on three key priorities: engagement, information sharing, and networking. Our association is strongest when we come together to exchange knowledge, support one another’s professional growth, build meaningful connections across healthcare organizations and demonstrate the value we bring to healthcare every day. As Health Information Professionals, we play a critical role in safeguarding Protected Health Information (PHI). Our expertise ensures the integrity, privacy, security, and accessibility of health information while supporting quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and organizational success. The work we do often occurs behind the scenes, yet it is fundamental to the trust patients place in our healthcare system. I encourage each of you to become actively involved with LIHIMA by attending events, share your expertise, connect with colleagues, and help us build an even stronger professional community.
